Notice:
EPSTEIN, Dr. Arnold A. (Bucky) - Passed away at
home on Thursday, November 19, 2009. Beloved
husband of Madeleine and father of Susan and
Merryl. Grandfather of Lyndsey and Sari and
great-grandfather of Ava. He is survived also
by his brother Dr. Nathan Epstein of
Providence, Rhode Island and his sister Faye
Leith of Montreal and many loving nieces and
nephews. Born in New Waterford, Nova Scotia,
Bucky Epstein graduated Dalhousie Medical
School and obtained his degree in Radiology
from the University of Toronto Medical School.
Dr. Epstein served in the Canadian Armed Forces
during World War II as a Major in the Medical
Corp. Dr. Epstein served the Jewish community
of Toronto in many capacities, including
President of Holy Blossom Temple, President of
U.J.A. and Federation, President of the
Canadian Friends of Haifa University, and was
honoured by JNF at their Negev dinner. The
funeral service will be held on Sunday,
November 22nd at Holy Blossom Temple (Bathurst,
south of Eglinton) at 1:00 p.m. Interment, Holy
Blossom Memorial Park. Shiva will be at 561
Avenue Road with evening services Sunday
through Wednesday at 8:00 p.m. Very special
thanks for loving care provided by caregivers
